Halong bay tours

Viewed from above, Halong Bay resembles a geographic work of art. While exploring the bay, you feel lost in a legendary world of stone islands. There is Man’s Head Island, which resembles a man standing and looking towards the mainland. Dragon Island looks like a dragon hovering above the turquoise water.

La Vong Island resembles an old man fishing. There are also the islands of the Sail, the Pair of Roosters, and the Incense Burner, which all astonishingly resemble their namesakes. The forms of the islands change depending on the angle of the light and from where the islands are viewed. At the core of the islands, there are wonderful caves and grottoes, such as Thien Cung (Heavenly Residence Grotto), Dau Go (Driftwood Grotto), Sung Sot (Surprise Grotto), and Tam Cung (Three Palace Grotto).

Halong Bay is one of Vietnam’s top attractions – The name “Halong ” translates as ‘where the dragon descends into the sea’. You will experience the unforgettable view of blue water intermingled with over two thousand limestone islets…

Hanoi – Halong Bay= About 180km – About 3.5 hours drive.

The road condition is pretty good but there is limit speed. On the freeway the limit speed is 80km/hour but the part passing community or the town  the limit speed goes down to 35km/ hour. Some of you may be disappointed with this slow speed. (Sometimes you may see couple car runs fast but that is very few which belong to government people or those who take this road every day and probably has paid the monthly fee to traffic police)

Any question, please contact our Hanoi office and we will reply you immediately.

New7Wonder of Nature

165km from the capital Ha Noi, located in the Gulf of Tonkin, in northeast Vietnam lies the magical and inspiring Halong Bay, home to 3000 incredible islands emerging from the beautiful emerald waters. The best way to get to see these and the beaches and grottoes is in a leisurely fashion on a Halong cruises. 100 million votes were cast worldwide and the bay has been named as a natural wonder of the world by the New7Wonder of Nature campaign, as well as being a recognised UNESCO world heritage site.

Welcome aboard

With more than 3000 islands there is a lot to see but it’ll be up to you how much you want to take in and what you’d like to do in Halong Bay. Cruises can last one day, two or even three; each local tour company will offer a different itinerary and activities for you to engage in. Guides will usually speak good English and if you choose to stay overnight onboard, meals will be included.

Souvenirs

Souvenir hunting is a huge threat to the natural preservation of the area, and there is no shortage of unscrupulous traders looking to make a quick sale from an unsuspecting tourist. Beware and steer clear of local shops or stalls selling rare corals and seashells that have been pulled from the sea floor as this practice damages the delicate eco-system. As well, in some cases stalactites and stalagmites that have been broken off from the walls of the caves are sold by these traders -these are sometimes turned into key rings, paperweights or even ashtrays. Please don’t become part of this illegal trade, even unwittingly. Halong bay cruises.

Halong Bay: Cruise Into Another World

There’s one holiday destination that offers a true kind of magic and mystery: Vietnam. In Halong Bay you will experience magnificent views of thousands of limestone karsts with fascinating shapes jutting out from emerald waters [sometimes partly hidden by fog], floating villages, mystical caves with deep grottoes, lakes hidden within hollow limestone islands, beautiful beaches and more.

Take a Halong Bay cruises to explore this modern day paradise and you’ll discover why the destination, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994, is now considered one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.

Dragons, Elephants, Roosters and More

Located in the Quáng Ninh province in northeastern Vietnam and bordered by the Gulf of Tonkin on the south and southeast, a Halong Bay tours promises awe-inspiring scenery and an almost magical experience. Even the name is mystical: “bay where the dragon descends into the sea” is the rough translation of Halong Bay. Cruise into the bay and one can almost see the dragon of legend, plunging into the water, and fancy the various formations as places where its flailing tail shaped the formations.

It is also easy to visualise the animal shapes that inspired the name of some of the islands that can be seen on a Halong Bay cruises. Around the bay you can see the islets with their quirkily descriptive names: Elephant Islet (Voi), Fighting Rooster Islet (Gan Choi) and more. Real animals, however, such as bantams, antelopes, monkeys, lizards and a great number of birds inhabit the islands, of which only a portion have been named. Practically all of these islands are considered fenglin karsts – a term for tower-shaped karsts that translates as “peak forest”. They range in height from 50m to 100m, and have height/width ratios of up to about one to six.

Magical Caves, Lakes and Beaches

Another interesting feature are the lakes you will see in the interior of limestone islands. Dau Be Island alone has six enclosed lakes, as well as cave grottoes that can be visited by boat during low tide. Dau Go Island, on the other hand, is known for its large and colourful cave which has many stalactites and stalagmites, some of them more than 20 metres high. Bo Hon Island has two caves that are popular attractions, Pelican Cave (Hang Bo Nau) and Virgin Cave (Hang Trinh Nu.) The most popular destination on a Cruises Halong Bay  is probably Cat Be island, a national park popular for hikes and tours.

Halong Bay Cruises Review

Launched in July 2008, the Emotion is the biggest one in Ha Long Bay features 28 air conditioned cabins, with private bathrooms and facilities similar to a boutique style hotel. Connecting cabins are also available for family or small group.

Our room was nice, clean and comfortable, big enough for 2. The guide and staffs on boat were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful as could be. The food was also well served and I can say it’s delicious!

There were about 50 people on board coming from different countries. We had the chance to swim as well as kayak around a lovely lagoon. The kayaking was really fun. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to do the night fishing. Just relaxed on sundeck, enjoyed the silence and fresh air of the bay.
